The Position
We are seeking a full-time Senior Construction Manager / Observer to join our team. As a Construction Manager / Observer, you will interpret plans and specifications, keep accurate records of daily activities, and prepare Pay Estimates and Project Review Reports. You will also inspect and maintain records of grading operations, placement and handling of aggregate base, bituminous base course, bituminous wear course, concrete curb and gutter, concrete paving, sanitary sewer, forcemain and appurtenances, lift stations, watermain, wells, water storage tanks, storm sewer, traffic control devices, pavement markings, traffic signs, drainage improvements, and other structures. Materials must be checked to ensure conformance to specifications and SWPPP conformance.
Experience/Education
- 8 years of related experience
Position Requirements
- MnDot Technical Certifications for Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I & II, and Bituminous Streets I & II are preferred
- Thorough knowledge of MnDot and/or CEAM specifications
- Excellent understanding of construction principles
- The ability to keep accurate records of daily activities
- Ability to carry up to 40 pounds while working in inclement weather
- Valid MN driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship or other work visa petitions.
- Ability to provide direction and/or supervise junior construction Observers
