The Position
Hakanson Anderson is seeking a full time Graduate Civil Engineer in Training to join our team. As a Civil Engineer in Training, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects from the design of civil and municipal engineering projects for county and local roads, public utilities (water main, sanitary sewer, etc.), parks, trails, and related infrastructure projects. This position involves assisting engineers and project managers with project-related tasks; attending team meetings; performing calculations; reviewing development plans; computing quantities and preparing cost estimates; drafting construction plans with AutoCAD; performing field observations and assisting in the coordination and management of construction activities.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified or ability to obtain certification within one year of start date
- Experience with AutoCAD 3D drafting and/or GIS
- 0-4 years’ experience
Position Requirements
- Ability to read and understand CAD standards
- Ability to understand and follow instructions as given by designers and engineers
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
- Serve as a construction observer as needed
- Valid MN driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship or other work visa petitions.
